Chatswood Public, established over 130 years ago, is a dynamic school catering for a diverse student population from Sydney's Northern Suburbs.

The school is closely associated with its community and programs reflect community as well as individual student needs. The school conducts special programs for gifted and talented students including Opportunity Classes (OC). Special programs for students with varying disabilities are conducted within the school.
The school has a proud tradition in the Creative Arts with outstanding programs in Visual Arts and Music. The school has both Mandarin and Korean LOTE programs. Our key programs continue to be great successes, providing our students with challenging and rewarding experiences.

These programs include:
  1. an outstanding academic program with 50% of Year 6 students accessing Selective High Schools and the School performing at the highest level in NAPLAN;
  2. the trial of an extensive iPad program to increase engagement and the introduction of a BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology) policy;
  3. instrument and choral programs, where we continue to be a state leader;
  4. visual arts and physical fitness programs for all students with specialist teachers;
  5. a commitment to Asian Literacy with all students learning Mandarin or Korean; 
  6. a visit from the Principal, staff and students of our Korean and Beijing Sister Schools; and
  7. an extensive and engaging extra curricula program.
At Chatswood Public School 85% of our students come from non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB). I am proud of the fact that our school is culturally responsive and promotes inclusivity as we celebrate the differences amongst our student population. It is these differences that give us strength.
